Pleasurewood Hills, nr, Lowestoft - Visitors can jump onboard Wipeout, the tallest, fastest and most extreme roller coaster in East Anglia.

Bure Valley Railway - A 15 in minimum gauge heritage railway runs from Wroxham to Aylsham. It uses both steam and diesel locomotives.

Wells & Walsingham Light Railway - A 10 ¹⁄₄ in gauge heritage railway running between Wells-next-the-Sea and Walsingham.

Blickling Hall - A stately home which has been in the care of the National Trust since 1940. Discover 4,600 acres of land.

Felbrigg Hall - A 17th-century English country house noted for its Jacobean architecture and fine Georgian interior.

Sheringham Park - A landscape park and gardens surrounds privately occupied Sheringham Hall. The park is open to visitors.

Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens - Home to a variety of animals including endangered tigers, huge crocodiles, noisy gibbons and more.

Happisburgh Lighthouse - The only independently operated lighthouse in the Uk and the oldest working lighthouse in East Anglia.

9.30am - 3.30pm ... Winterton Quilters have their weekly gathering at the village hall. They do all sorts of soft crafts including quilting, bag making, knitting, embroidery and much more.


10.30am - noon ... The Seasiders Ukulele Band meets and plays at Poppy's Tea Room.


7pm - 8pm … Table tennis club meets at the village hall.

9.30am - 10.15am ... Zumba classes with Hayley at Winterton Village Hall. Men and women are welcome for all levels of fitness, seated or standing. Soon Hayley will be adding 15 minutes on to the classes for strengthening exercises. If you are interested in this part only £1.50 or £6 for all. Call her on 07714 767111.

6pm ... Santa will be visiting Winterton on his sleigh, courtesy of Norfolk Broads Lions Club.

10am - 3.30pm ... Artisan Christmas Fair at Winterton Village Hall. Handmade Christmas

gifts, from bath bombs to bows, from quilting crafts to crackers.


Sunday December 5

2.00pm - 4.00pm ... Recycling Christmas Event in Winterton Village Hall. Bring any item you

no longer want and swap it for something else. As the event is organised by the Great

Yarmouth Green Party they are emphasising all things cycling. They even have a complete

bicycle for their free raffle. Feel free to wear masks but probably best to remove them

when sampling their delicious Vegan Cakes.

3pm ... Christingle service for Winterton Primary School at Winterton Church. Everyone welcome.


The Friends of Winterton Primary School and Nursery are holding a Christmas raffle with £50 cash prize, amongst others. Unfortunately they are unable to hold their annual Christmas fayre. If any local businesses or members of the community would like to donate any prizes, please get in touch with Angela Hudson-Jones or message/contact the school direct. Every bit of support they receive really would be appreciated. Tickets will be on sale at Poppy's, Winterton Fish Bar, The Fisherman's Return and Loomes Stores. Parents and carers with children at school can purchase tickets at the school via any Friends members or at the office.

to the village hall and raise any issues or concerns with one of the parish councillors.

Friday December 17

1.30pm - 3.45pm ... Santa will be picked up from Poppy's and transported round the village in Operation Santa Jeeps. The vehicles will parade outside Burleigh House, Back Path at 1.45pm. Santa's first stop will be Winterton Primary School sports field at 2.00pm, then Hales House, Someron Road at 2.30pm, then on to Bulmer Lane, Cobbleways, the Craft, George Beck, the Holway, Hillview, Edward Road and Bush Road. They will then return down the Craft and on to the Lane and the Fishermans at 3.00pm. After a tot at the pub, Santa will carry on to Kings Street, Beach Raod, Market Place, Old Chapel Road (Marams Home), Low Road, Empson's Loke and stop on the village green at 3.30pm.  The parade will finish at Back Path.

2pm - 3pm ... Informal carol singing at the back of Winterton church. Entry free, but donations welcome. Bring along an instrument if you want. Refreshments served.


7pm ... Winterton Cinema Society will be showing sing- a- long The Sound of Music at the village hall. Bring your own refreshments. There will be an interval with a raffle. Tickets are £5 and are available from Poppy's or on the door.


Wednesday December 22

10.30am - noon ... The Seasiders Ukulele Band meets and plays at Poppy's Tea Room. Mince pies

will be served.


6pm ... Christmas Carol Service at Winterton Church. Everyone welcome.
